I am 17 year veteran school educator at Hollenbeck Middle School. Born of immigrant Mexican parents who settled in Los Angeles to seek “The American Dream”. I was born, raised, educated and now work in Boyle Heights. It’s a personal feeling of satisfaction to give back to my community. I can relate to our students through my deeply rooted upbringing. And now I can offer resilience, optimism, and perseverance. Success comes from within and nurture from without.

My goal at Hollenbeck Middles School is to promote highly skilled college bound students so they may become independent contributors to endure Boyle Heights as a prosperous community. As an educator, I am given one opportunity to make a difference in students’ lives. I am aware that one day they will take my place as future leaders and choose a career pathway of their own. And therefore, my responsibility is to assist all school stakeholders achieve our Hollenbeck Middle School student’s potential and exceed their expectations.
